Photos of Eric the Emu on Bribie Island

Wow I am so excited!  I have been getting lots of photos of Eric the Emu and LOVING IT!  It really does help me.  The more photos of Emus I have I can work out how many different #Birds there are on the island.

Check out Eric, he is stunning.

Please remember Emu’s are  curious birds who are known to follow and watch other animals and humans, but DONT be fooled.  Our Emus are wild animals.  We need to give them respect and stay a safe distance away.

Enjoy our amazing Emus from a safe distance.

Please NEVER chase an Emu in a 4WD.  Remember you are on their home.

Did You Know

  • Emus can live between 10 and 20 years in the wild!
  •  Emus do not sleep continuously at night but in several short stints sitting down.
  • Emus will sit in water and are also able to swim

I am so excited about all the new things I am finding out about Bribies beautiful Emus.  Please keep sharing your photos and sightings with me 🙂
