Happy Steve Irwin Day!

Today is 15th November, which is of course, Steve Irwin Day – a special day to celebrate the life of the ultimate wildlife warrior Steve Irwin!

This day also means a great day at Australia Zoo – everything from special guest stars like Jess from The Veronicas, a free concert by Darren Percival from The Voice, a free BBQ breakfast and a live broadcast by Hot 91’s morning show Todd & Ash. I also get to see lots of other Joey Ambassadors, and dunk ’em at the Dunking Machine (a great way to spend a hot day!).

15 November also marks the end of our 2012 fundraising season (and the beginning of our 2013 year). So with a lot of generosity from so many people and a fair bit of hard work from me, mum and dad, my everyday hero page is showing a 2012 total of $13,607.73 and my Read-a-thon page is showing $1400 (as at this morning but a fair few pledges still to collect and put onto the page). So a grand total of over $15,000!!!!

Add in last years total (up to 15 Nov 2011) of about $13,000, means $28,000 or 28% of my goal of raising $100,000 for wildlife conservation before I finish High School in 2016.

Thanks again for everyone’s amazing generosity. On behalf of all the voiceless animals, I say THANK YOU!!!
