About

G’day,

My name is Tegan and I am wild about wildlife!

I set myself a goal to raise $100,000.00 for conservation before I leave High School and it looks like I will get awfully close to this goal by the end of 2014!  2 years early!

Wildlife hospitals treats thousands of aussie native wildlife every year at no cost to the public. Most of them  get no government funding, just like the many thousands of ordinary people who volunteer their time to rescue and rehabilitate all the sick and injured animals. That’s why I am passionate about fundraising for wildlife.

In my first year fundraising, I raised over $18,500 (with lots of help from my mum and dad – they’re my slaves, I mean volunteers!!!). It has been 4 years since I started and I have raised over $95,500.00 for a number of different charities.  I am well on my way to making my personal goal of $100,000.00 for conservation.

Since that time I have met some amazing people like Dr Scott Burnett and Dr Bill Ellis, from the ‘Koala Ecology Group’ at UQ.  Not to mention some other wonderful supporters (of which I am HUGE fans off!)  David Strassman and Ted E Bare, Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin, Steve Austin Elite Dog Trainer and had a Sir David Attenborough sign one of his books for me and leave me a personal message!  Wow!

Now that I am getting older I can see where I can help much more.  I organise beach clean ups, sausage sizzles and taking part in wildlife surveys around SE Queensland.  I love to help out with surveys and really seeing that I am making a difference around me.  I hope you will join me on my adventure.  I will also help other wildlife charities, but also looking to help my little patch of home. Bribie Island.  I still love putting on fun and awesome Fundraiser like the ZOO RUN so please join me on Facebook, Twitter and visit me at one of my events.

Thanks for all your help

Tegan
